I began weaving these headbands last year and I must admit, I really enjoy making them! Unlike making bows, which requires the use of a hot glue gun, I can use Fabri-tac when making these. This makes it a portable craft! Woohoo! I often make these while watching tv, although it definitely slows me down. :)
The style that I weave can have up to 4 different colors in each headband. There are different patterns that can be made with the colors, and I have recently purchased some new patterns, but have yet to try them. The headbands come in different widths, including 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 inch. I mainly make the 1 inch, although I have all 3 widths. Here are some I made this week on 1 inch bands. Note the different patterns! (Sorry about the paper towel roll but I was too tired to look for a piece of fabric to cover it with!)
These can be made with grosgrain ribbon or satin ribbon, or a combination of both! All of the above were made with grosgrain, except the 4th from the right in the first picture. It was made with all satin.

Mini Bow Boards!
I was at Hobby Lobby the other day and saw that they made canvases in a 5x7 size. I got to thinking it that would be the perfect size to hold a small collection of bar bows! I covered them and think that they would make a great gift, along with some bar bows of course! I only made 3 for the sale because I don't know how well they will sell.

Flower Clippies
I love these sweet little flower clippies! They can be made in many different color combinations, so it's easy to match a particular outfit.
When my daughter was younger (and had much less hair!) I made her a smaller flower out of 1/4 ribbon. I don't use that size ribbon very often so I have very limited colors in it.

The lollipop could be made with any number of color combinations!

Krazy for Korkers!
Korkers are the bows that have corkscrew ribbons tied or sewn together. (I prefer to sew through mine so that the ribbons stay secure.) These bows are so cute but they are a LOT of work! I have to wrap the ribbons around dowels, bake them, unwind them, cut/heat seal the ends, sew the bow together and then shape and spray it! Here are some I made for the sale.
Those were all made from 3/8 ribbon, cut in 2 1/2 inch pieces. I used 24 pieces in those bows.
I have also made a couple for my daughter from 1/8 and they are even more work!
The pink and white one was larger and more full than the red, white and blue one. I actually made the latter for the previous year and in my opinion, she didn't have enough hair to wear it! I like them both though.

Stacked Basic Bows
One of the bows that I love to make are 4 inch basic boutique bows with a 3 inch basic stacked on top. I think they are soo cute. Here are some that I made recently.

WHEW!!
I have made soo many bows the past 2 weeks! I finally finished my self-imposed quota and dropped them off at the JBF sale at Camp Jordan this morning. Thankfully my son came to help stock the rack! :) I am a little burnt out on bowmaking so I think I will take a couple of days off and not make any extra to take back to the mid-week drop off on Tuesday. Here's some pics of my display this time.
I will be adding pics of some of the bows I made for this sale in other posts.

Burp cloths!
My mom gave me an antique Singer Featherweight sewing machine. We recently sent it off to have it reconditioned and it came back working wonderfully. So I began looking for a simple project to sew.
I found a tutorial on how to make these adorable little burp cloths. They aren't too hard or fancy, but somewhat time consuming. With plenty of interruptions from my kids, I can make one start to finish in about 30 minutes. I LOVE making them! And one benefit from this is that I have gotten a lot of practice threading my machine and making different colored bobbins! Here's some pics of the ones I made this week.

Star print - after washing
They are made of 2 pieces of flannel with some batting in between. Those pictures show the cloths before they are washed. When washed, the edges fray up! All rolled up and tied with a bow, they make a pretty gift. These are a set of cloths I made for a baby girl. See how the edges fray after they were washed! I wish I could have had some of these when my kids were babies....I had to settle for plain white prefold diapers!

Bar Bows
Bar Bows are the sweet and simple little bows I make for babies and toddlers. They are perfect for sweeping bangs to the side. And they stay put even in baby fine hair!
My daughter was a late bloomer, as far as growing hair, so she wore these up until 2 years of age!
(From top left, red, shk pink, hot pink, pixie pink, lt pink, white, cream, purple, orchid, lavender, lt blue, turquoise, royal, oatmeal, black, green, apple green, spring moss, mint, lt yellow, orange, brown.)
I made those as a gift and decided that they needed a bow board so that they wouldn't get lost or crushed. Here's the board I made for them.
And I had some extra fabric left over so I decided to try my hand at covering a travel wipes case.
